Leather Info – Swift

Swift leather is made from calf hides, originally named as Gulliver by Hermes before 1999. It is used widely on Hermes luxurious products for its softness and durability.
In the manufacture, from the raw material to the outcome, it is required a very deliberate process to meet the high demand of quality. Particularly in tanning solution for which the components are organic. As a result, the process should leave a smooth and interlude surface on the skin, and render texture with elasticity.
To distinguish Swift from other calfskin leathers, it has semi smooth and matte grain but still shiny.
